Regenerative Farming

Regenerative farming is an approach to agriculture that focuses on improving soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. Although we already purchase local and organic whenever we can, regenerative farming is something that we aim to incorporate. Have you ever heard of carbon sequestration? Essentially its trapping carbon from the atmosphere and storing it somewhere else, in this case, putting it back in the soil! Many scientists believe that regenerative farming is one solution to mitigating climate change. It involves practices that mimic natural processes to rebuild degraded land and promote sustainable food production. Key principles of regenerative farming include minimizing soil disturbance, maximizing soil cover, increasing biodiversity, integrating livestock (if there are any), and promoting agroecological principles. By prioritizing soil health and ecological balance, regenerative farming aims to create resilient and productive agricultural systems that benefit both the environment and human well-being. Now that's really something to get excited about!
